Boone Water System Modeling

The Boone Water System Modeling project is an analytical examination of the existing water main network to help the City of Boone, Iowa identify shortcomings in the distribution system. Nilles Associates utilized all available data on the existing water main to first build the network in AutoCAD, then import into WaterCAD water distribution analysis and design software. Once a base model was developed, numerous scenarios were run within the program testing the impact of the addition of water towers, pipe diameter and looping changes, and simulations of fire protection to identify necessary infrastructure upgrades.
